BMW Rules 2016 compliance for workplace clinics

The rules apply to occupiers generating biomedical waste, which can include workplace clinics. Authorisation, record and reporting duties depend on the type and quantity of waste and the State Pollution Control Board's requirements.

HR and EHS leaders get an anonymised company dashboard showing participation, risk trends and pending follow-ups, plus exportable registers for audits. Individual medical details are shared with the employer only where the law requires it (for example a fitness opinion) or where the employee has consented, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
