OHC Equipment and Medicine Checklist for Factories
Last updated 30 September 2026
A practical starting list of equipment, consumables and medicines for an occupational health centre — and how to keep it in date.
By the Plan My Health corporate health team

An OHC audit usually starts with a walk around the room: is the equipment working, and are the medicines in stock and in date?
Core equipment
- Examination couch, observation beds, stretcher and wheelchair
- BP monitor, pulse oximeter, glucometer, thermometer and ECG machine
- Oxygen cylinder, suction machine and AED
- Dressing sets, splints and cervical collars
- Eye wash and emergency shower where chemicals are handled
Medicines and consumables
The medicine list should be drawn up by the medical officer based on your hazards and headcount: analgesics, antiseptics, burn dressings, anti-allergics, oral rehydration and emergency drugs the doctor is trained to use. Keep batch and expiry records and set reorder levels.
Keeping it working
Schedule monthly equipment checks, calibrate instruments and record every issue of medicine against a prescription in the OPD register. Dispose of expired stock through the biomedical or pharmaceutical waste route.
